Additional surveys, before works or for new builds

Beyond the mandatory surveys for sales and lettings, CBDI also handles specific assignments: before works, before demolition, or on completion of a new build.

Pre-works asbestos survey

Pre-works asbestos survey, to protect workers' health

When works are planned in a building constructed before July 1997, a pre-works asbestos survey is mandatory to detect any asbestos.

It keeps the workers on site safe, so they are not directly exposed to asbestos.

Contractors can then take the necessary measures for the works to run safely.

Pre-works lead survey

Pre-works lead survey, for works in buildings constructed before 1949

Any building constructed before 1949 that is about to undergo works must have a pre-works lead survey, carried out by a property surveyor.

If lead is found, the surveyor measures its concentration in the building, to make sure there is no risk to anyone working on site.

New-build DPE, on completion of construction

New-build DPE, on completion of construction

Part of the RT 2012 framework (French thermal regulations), the new-build DPE (Energy Performance Certificate) is a mandatory survey carried out once construction is complete.

The accredited surveyor checks that the energy performance of the finished home matches what was set out earlier in the thermal study.

This DPE helps future occupants decide whether the home suits them, based on the energy rating given by the surveyor. The rating is set from the thermal study using dedicated software.

PEMD survey

PEMD survey (products, equipment, materials and waste)

Mandatory for demolitions or major renovations above certain floor area thresholds, it identifies materials that can be reused or recovered before works begin, as part of a circular economy approach.
