Property surveys in Le Temple : what you need to know

Le Temple is a forest village halfway between the Bordeaux area and the coast. Its older housing is limited to a few rural houses and former farm buildings around the centre. Most homes are more recent: detached houses on large plots, housing estates from recent decades and timber-frame builds. Many buyers come here to live all year round, commuting daily to Mérignac or Saint-Médard-en-Jalles.

For a recent house, the DPE (Energy Performance Certificate) is often the survey buyers and tenants look at first. Remember: G-rated homes can no longer be let since 1 January 2025, and F-rated homes will follow from 2028. If your house is older, an asbestos survey is required when the building permit predates 1 July 1997, and a CREP (lead report) for homes built before 1 January 1949. Gas and electrical installations over 15 years old each get their own report. A termite inspection is required in municipalities covered by a prefectoral order: we check the status of your address.
